There hasn’t been much singing this year. The local church has, in many ways, been muted for most of the last 12 months. At 20schemes Music, we have endeavoured to continue writing and recording songs, that Christ might still be exalted through song and that God’s people in the schemes might be encouraged and spurred on.
We decided to close out this year by asking believers from the various scheme plants, churches, and revitalisations around Scotland to send us their own voices singing ‘O Holy Night’—the first song we ever recorded four years ago, when the idea for 20schemes music began—and we have put it all together to achieve what you will hear in this video. I enjoyed orchestrating ‘This Is Grace—Symphonic’ so much a couple of months ago that I have done it again. It seems to me you just can’t express the birth of Jesus Christ epically enough, but I’ve given it a go with a full orchestral score. So crank this one up in all your homes this Christmas!
This makeshift, socially-distanced choir is made up of believers singing into their phones from churches including Charleston Free Church, Hope Community Church Barlanark, Gracemount Community Church, Hope Church Bingham, Merkinch Free Church and Niddrie Community Church. We hope this unified sound of God’s people singing will encourage you all.
The Lord has been so good to us this year but by His grace, we also wouldn’t have been able to do all this without your kind and generous support. So thank you so much and have a great Christmas!
In Christ and for His glory.
