How to Encourage Both Social and Racial Diversity in our Churches

Erik Raymond is the senior pastor of Emmaus Bible Church in Omaha, Nebraska and has a blog, The Ordinary Pastor, on The Gospel Coalition.

“Any time we build an identity on something higher than the gospel, whether that is how much money you make, what kind of car you drive, where you live, or what colour you are, or anything that you partner with people on, and find affinity with, that’s dangerous. . . . The answer is the same, I think, to ethnicity, and it really is to raise the gospel flag the highest, salute that flag, and build your identity and your closeness on that.”

In this video, Erik talks about how we can achieve both social and racial diversity in our churches.
