One of the fundamental errors of many church-planting movements is to assume that the greatest need in terms of poverty is found only within inner cities. Whilst it is true that there is often a greater concentration of deprived people in urban contexts, rural areas suffer disproportionately too.
The Highlands of Scotland, often (rightly) thought of as picturesque places of rugged beauty, also suffer from neglect, social deprivation, drug issues, crime, and lack of access to gospel-centred churches. Those works that do exist are very often in need of support and encouragement.
20schemes exists to help and support the strengthening and/or establishment of healthy gospel churches wherever we find a need in Scotland. If you would like to find out more about serving/helping a Highlands Church reach into poor communities, then please contact us for more information.
